Dedicated to fighting breast cancer through early detection, education, and comprehensive support for women across Ghana.
The Meena Breast Cancer Foundation was born out of love, loss, and a mission to save lives.
It was founded by Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng in memory of his late wife, Mrs. Meena Kwarteng, who tragically lost her battle with breast cancer in 2022. Meena’s passing revealed a heartbreaking reality. Too many Ghanaian women were being diagnosed late, when treatment options were limited and hope seemed out of reach
Determined to turn pain into purpose, Ibrahim Oppong established the Meena Breast Cancer Foundation to ensure that no woman would have to endure what his wife went through.
What began as a small outreach initiative has since grown into a nationwide campaign for early detection, education, and accessible treatment.
Meena Breast Cancer exists to reduce breast cancer mortality in Ghana through comprehensive awareness campaigns, accessible screening programs, and compassionate patient support. We believe every woman deserves access to life-saving healthcare regardless of their economic status or location.
We envision a future where every Ghanaian woman has the knowledge, resources, and support needed to detect breast cancer early and receive timely, quality treatment. Through education and community engagement, we're building a nation where breast cancer is no longer a death sentence.
The principles that guide everything we do
We approach every woman with empathy, dignity, and respect, understanding that behind every diagnosis is a person, a family, and a story that deserves our full attention and care.
We believe in the power of community support and collaboration. By bringing together survivors, healthcare providers, and advocates, we create a network of hope and healing.
We operate with transparency, accountability, and honesty in all our programs and partnerships, ensuring that every resource is used effectively to serve our mission.
We equip women with knowledge, resources, and confidence to take charge of their breast health, advocate for themselves, and support others in their communities.
We're committed to removing barriers to breast health services, ensuring that geography, income, or education level never prevents a woman from accessing life-saving care.
We continuously seek new and better ways to serve our communities, leveraging technology, partnerships, and creative solutions to maximize our impact.
